SAIL recast outlay

Durgapur, Sept 10: Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) will spend Rs 615 crore for strengthening the finishing line at Durgapur and modernisation of Bhillai and Rourkela plants. Union steel minister B. K. Tripathy said here that Rs 300 crore will be spent on modernisation of long rails facilities at Bhillai, Rs 225 crore for wire rod mill and bloom caster project at Durgapur Steel Plant and Rs 90 crore for upgradation of the pipe mill at Rourkela by next year.

New Delhi, Sept 10: The Delhi High Court today restrained the Centre from revoking Koshika Telcom’s licence till September 18, while directing the company to approach the telecom secretary to discuss its proposal on payment of licence fee dues.

New Delhi, Sept 10: The board of Gillette India today appointed a committee to undertake an in-depth study of the final report of the consultants on its Geep battery business. The board, which considered the interim report of the consultants, appointed the committee to study the final report with their recommendations and to review further findings.

New Delhi, Sept 10: Second round of voluntary retirement scheme (VRS) proposed by some leading PSU banks appears to have hit a roadblock with some of the NDA partners and opposition parties raising serious objections against what they call government’s anti-labour policies.
