Manisha plea

Calcutta, Sept. 7: Manisha Koirala has sought the intervention of the information and broadcasting ministry to stop the screening of Shashilal Nair’s Ek Chhotisi Love Story, says a staff reporter. “We received a representation from her (Manisha) on Friday night,” confirmed Sushma Swaraj after a meeting with representatives of Bengal’s film industry.

The meeting — under the banner Emerging Entertainment Opportunities, Advantage Bengal — was organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry, eastern region.

“I haven’t yet gone through her appeal and so am not in a position to comment on the government’s stand on the issue right now. I have asked my department officials to go through her representation and a decision will be taken once I go back to Delhi,” said the minister.
