Life terms after 20 yrs

Behrampore, Sept. 7: Between the crime and the punishment a gap of 20 years. The additional sessions judge of Kandi, Mahammed Abdul Jalil, today sentenced 12 persons to life imprisonment for their involvement in a murder that took place in 1982.

The miscreants had abducted Tulu Sheik from his residence at midnight on October 9, 1982. The next day, he was hacked to death.

Though 20 years have passed, the residents of Aligram village have not lose interest in the case in which they had lost a neighbour. Hundreds of people came from remote villages to hear the verdict.
