September 6 at Gyan Manch; 7 pm: The Red Curtian presents Harlequinade. Directed by Katy Lai Roy, the play stars Zarin Chaudhuri and Kabir Seth. Sets and lights are by Tom Lai. Costumes and props have been designed by Hyacinth Malkani. Proceeds go to Little Sisters of the Poor.


September 6 at Sisir Mancha; 6.30 pm: The concluding evening of Arghya’s drama festival features its own production, Shesh Roopkatha, based on Abul Bashar’s novel and directed by Manish Mitra.


September 6 at Rabindra Sadan; 6 pm: Classical vocal recital by Chetna Banawat of Udaipur. Presented by Alauddin Sangeet Samaroh in collaboration with EZCC. September 6 at G.D. Birla Sabhagar; 6.30 pm: Uttaran presents Sandipan Samajpati in an evening of Hindustani classical vocal music, accompanied by Pandit Anindo Chatterjee (tabla) and Pandit Purushottam Walavalkar (harmonium). September 8 at G.D. Birla Sabhagar; 6 pm: Vedanter Aaloye Vivekananda, Pujar Naibedye Rabindranath — An evening featuring songs of devotion to be rendered by Ashis Bhattacharya, Abhirup Guha Thakurta, Alpana Roy and Swastika Mukhopadhyay. Narration: Pradip Ghosh.

Till September 7 at Obsession Gallery, 87 Park Street; 10 am - 7.30 pm: Crafts Council of West Bengal presents Pooja — a unique collection of sarees, dupattas and fabrics from traditional weavers and dyers. Till September 28 (except Sundays) at Max Mueller Bhavan; 3 pm - 8 pm: A display of about 40 posters of theatre productions staged over the years by Berliner Ensemble. Till September 7 at Weavers Studio, 5/1 Anil Moitra Road: Weavers Studio’s anniversary exhibition showcasing trendsetting designer wear by in-house designers as well as works of Rehwa (Maheshwar), Bodhi (Baroda), Soundarya (Chennai) and Bandhej (Ahmedabad). Till September 7 at Sasha, 27 Mirza Ghalib Street: Sasha presents Dastkar Andhra’s work with handloom weavers in Andhra Pradesh. The product range includes saris, yardage, dupattas, ready-to-stitch coordinated salwar kurta sets, bed linen & table linen, natural dyeing, natural-dyed khadi and kalamkari.
