CAB XI crash to second defeat

Calcutta: CAB XI carried on their losing streak as they went down to Chemplast by five wickets in the second match of the Moin-ud-Dowla tournament at Hyderabad Wednesday. The left-arm spin of Dinesh Mongia (five for 30) was too hot for the Bengal boys to handle as they were all out for a paltry 188 in 48.5 overs. For CAB, opener Amitabha Chakraborty scored 62 while Rohan Gavaskar made 39.

According to information received here, Badrinath(57) and Hemang Badani(39) showed the way for Chemplast as they settled the issue in 42.3 overs. Medium pacer Shib Shankar Paul backed up his good performance in the first match with a haul of three for 52 for CAB.

CAB 188 in 48.5 ovs (Amitabha Chakraborty 62, Rohan Gavaskar 39; Vidyut Shivaramkrishnan 2/35, Dinesh Mongia 5/30). Chemplast 189 for 5 in 42.3 ovs (Badrinath 57, Hemang Badani 39; S.S. Paul 3/52). Chemplast won by five wickets.
