Colombo: Sri Lankan and West Indian players have agreed to play in the ICC Champions Trophy next month.
A BCCSL statement said: “Discussions between the BCCSL and the Sri Lanka Cricketers’ Association regarding the participation of Sri Lankan cricketers in the ICC Champions Trophy 2000 were concluded successfully today. Accordingly, Sri Lanka will be represented by its full-strength side, barring injuries.” No other details were given.
Earlier Friday the West Indies players reached an agreement with the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB), says a report from St John’s. The board said in a statement that the players had agreed to play in the event on condition they be consulted in future by the ICC.
