Hind Copper cuts loss

Hindustan Copper Limited (HCL), a Government of India enterprise, registered a marginal decline in net loss at Rs 184.04 crore during the financial year ended March 2002. Gross turnover or income from operations during the fiscal stood lower at Rs 605.56 crore against Rs 946.65 crore during the previous fiscal. Its gross loss before depreciation and tax stood at Rs 164.67 crore, down marginally from Rs 165.29 crore in 2000-01. The net loss was lower as provision for depreciation came down to Rs 19.37 crore from Rs 31.15 crore during the previous fiscal.

Sahara director

Actress Aishwarya Rai has joined the Sahara India Pariwar as a director of its Kartavya Council. She is the youngest director on the board of Sahara India.“ It is wonderful to be selected a director of the council. But I consider myself a child and have a long way to go. I have a lot to learn,” the actress said.

mySAP PLM

Larsen and Toubro Limited, Electrical and Electronics division (L&T-EBG) has announced the successful implementation of mySAP product life cycle management (mySAP PLM). L&T-EBG is the first SAP customer in India to implement mySAP PLM, a company statement said.

MatrixOne plan

Nasdaq-listed MatrixOne Inc has entered the Indian market and announced creation of MatrixOne India as part of an alliance with the Netherlands-based Scandent Group. The new entity, a Scandent group subsidiary, will be an authorised provider of MatrixOne solutions within India.

CDSL service

Central Depository Services (India) Ltd (CDSL) will re-launch its low tariff unlimited service (Lotus) scheme for registration from September 2. Registration of investors’ demat accounts under the scheme through CDSL depository participants will remain open till September 30, a release said.

Hexaware Tech

Hexaware Technologies Ltd, an Aptech Group company, has bagged euro 22 million contract to assist Deutsche leasing AG to revamp the latter’s infotech set-up in Europe. As part of the long-term contract, to be completed by December 2004, Hexaware will set up core architecture and develop IT applications for finance, operating leases and fleet management, a release said.

HCL alliance

HCL Technologies has announced a strategic alliance with Sento Corporation, a US-based contract solutions company. As a result of this alliance, both the companies will be able to offer joint solutions to Global 200 companies.

Philips centre

Philips India Limited has opened a shared service centre in Calcutta. The centre will handle all the finance and accounting services for the company in India, a press release said.
