Roads to avoid

From Subodh Mullick Square to Writers’ Buildings from 2 pm. The state Congress will take out a rally to protest the Left Front government’s reluctance to release funds for the Congress-run municipalities. Rani Rashmoni Road to Writers’ Buildings. West Bengal Ministerial Officers’ Association will march with a 21-point charter of demands.

Chess prizes

The prize distribution ceremony of The Telegraph Schools’ Chess 2002 at Gorky Sadan from 4.30 pm. Spider-Man will be screened. Aparna Sen is chief guest.

Anniversary

A special feeding programme for the poor and inmates of the Missionaries of Charity, to mark the 92nd birthday of Mother Teresa, at all the houses from 7 am. A collection of paintings will be displayed as a homage at Gallery Ritu, from 5 pm to 7 pm.
