Rennedy stays back

Mohun Bagan were on Monday assured of the services of Rennedy Singh for the forthcoming season. The midfielder, who was believed to have toyed with the idea of shifting to the Bangalore-based ITI, changed his mind and decided to remain with his old club.

EB eves win big

East Bengal swept Jubak Sangha aside 8-0 in their Womenís League tie Monday. Sujata Karís hattrick, Pinky Magarís brace and goals from Enakshi Biswas, Rina Gupta and Gita Devi floored Jubak Sangha. In other matches, Nabajanma beat Rampur MS by a solitary goal and Itika Memorial played draw with Bidyut Memorial.

Transworld and IISCO won their Main Plate matches in the Telegraph Merchantsí Cup football meet at the CC&FC today. While the steelmen beat J Thomas 2-0, Transworld got past ABN Amro by a solitary goal.
