Calcutta, April 19: 
Howrah Vivekananda Institute and St Thomas’ reached the final in the district leg of the U-16 inter-school cricket meet for the Milo Challenge Trophy today.

St Thomas’ beat St Maria’s Day School by five runs, while Vivekananda Institute defeated Howrah Ramkrishna Shikshalaya by 51 runs. The final will be played at Dumurjola Sports Complex on Sunday.

Office meet

CESC Sports Club and Metro Railway Sports Association will met in the final of the Swil inter-office cricket league today. CESC defeated Eastern Railway Accounts Recreation Club by 39 runs and Metro Railway Sports Association cruised to a 99-run victory against SWIL Limited.

Batting first, the CESC team piled up 210 for seven with Sankar Das making 51. Chandra Sanyal then took four for 39 to restrict the Eastren Railway team to 171 for nine.

In the other semi-final, Saurav Seal made 43 and Sanjib Sanyal scored 41 to help the Metro Rail team reach 188 for seven. Sanyal did well with ball too, taking three for 31 to help his team bowl out SWIL for 89.
