When the Earth convulsed this Republic Day, the soul of one of India’s most prosperous states was buried under a heap of rubble. Not a corner of the country is untouched by the tragedy of Gujarat.

No compensation is enough, but we, in however small a way, must share the burden of rebuilding the lives shattered in Gujarat. The Telegraph and Anandabazar Patrika are setting up a fund with that modest aim in mind. If every reader of The Telegraph and Anandabazar Patrika contributes a small sum,we can raise a huge amount to help the survivors. The fund is being started with an initial contribution of Rs 5 lakh from the ABP group.

As a token of appreciation, both papers will publish the names of donors contributing Rs 1,000 or more.

Only account payee cheques and drafts — payable to ‘ABP-TT Gujarat Fund’ will be accepted. Put the cheque/draft in an envelope with your name and address. Write ‘ABP-TT Gujarat Fund’ on the envelope and mail it to or deliver it at (between 10 am and 6 pm except on Sundays)
