Surprise your mom with a long drive to Kolaghat with a scenic stop at Deulti

Reconnect with your mom on the banks of Rupnarayan and also enjoy delicious dhaba food together

Your mom definitely needs a break from her regular chores and what better way to spend Mother’s Day than by taking her on a long relaxing drive on the highway? You can head straight to Deulti. If you and your mom enjoy cultural heritage, then Deulti has a lot to offer like Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay’s house, Sarat Smirti Mandir, now a house museum. If that isn’t for you, the mesmerising view from the banks of the Rupnarayan river — all with its calm waters and surrounding beauty —  will surely make your mom’s day a memorable one. 

The 60 km-drive to Deulti should take about 2 and a half hours. So, plan out your day with ample time for a lunch stop. Sher-e-Punjab is just a 15 min drive ahead of Deulti from Kolkata and if that feels like too much, you can always make a stop at Azad Hind Dhaba at Uluberia to enjoy the best Dhaba food, while driving back towards the city. Your entire drive to and from home with a few stops could be done in 7 hours and even less, depending on how long you halt. And don’t forget to express your love for her because none of us can ever thank our moms enough for everything they do for us.
